I've had an RCI membership for the past 10 years. I haven't used it in several years, so I was not going to renew it once it expired on 12-31-16. I never received any kind of renewal offer, which surprised me, but I have continued to receive their regular promotional emails even after my account expiration date.

Today I logged in to the account and see that my membership has been extended to 12-31-17. I didn't request it and haven't been charged for it. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Did the resort you own add the rci renewal fee to your annual fees, maybe you paid it by mistake?

Ha! Why didn't I think of that. I'm sure you're correct. I had prepaid my RCI dues for 10 years (at $25 per year!) with a South Africa purchase back in 2006. Since then I've purchased resale BG points and the yearly "club dues" includes an RCI membership. I never thought about it before because I always had the RCI membership anyway. Thanks for clearing that up!

(Sigh) I just dropped a check in the mail today for $124 for ONE year of RCI membership. No deals because it's for Points. Ho-Hum.

I'm a points owner and I recently renewed for 3 years for $321, so $107 a year.

LOL, those were great deals. Got me some 'great-to-ok' traders for pocket change in '02, plus free RCI continuous Weeks membership through 2025 for those 3 timeshares. I haven't paid an RCI membership fee since joining, and the expiration date will probably coincide well with my exit from exchanging.

Yes, those were great deals! Mine just ran out - must've had about 15 years worth. I renewed to use up TPU's but with the high exchange fee now and all the other fees I probably won't hang around long.
