RCI last call - prices for 2107?

I'm in the process of researching to buy a Wyndham point timeshare and one of the helpful things we saw at the presentation was the option for last calls. Getting full weeks for as little as 130 a week for a 1bd. Was this a lead on or is it true? If there is a current updated article I'd be glad To read but I can't seem to find one.

How do last calls work and how many do you get? They made it sound like you only get so many a year.

Last Calls are currently priced at $294 per week for a 1 br and $319 for a 2br. They do have sales but $199 for a week is really the low end for a last call/extra vacation even during one of the better sales.

Was the timeshare salesman's lips moving?

And why would a salesperson know this? Did he tell you he/she own a bunch of timeshares that they own/rent/use/rent?

Re-read my first line of this post ... If their lips were moving, they were fibbing. IMHO and experience.

Last Calls are the weeks leftover that nobody else wanted. It is 45 days or less out from booking. As a result, while you might luck into something, don't count on this to work out. If you live someplace that is within driving distance of an area with a lot of timeshares, you will have more of a chance at it.
Extra Vacations are RCI's cash options at more than 45 days out. The prices can be great or over priced based on location and time of year.
As a result, buy something that you want to use yourself or is a good trader and think of the cash options as nice extras if they work out but not to be counted on.

They sometimes have decent sells on the Extra Vacations part of RCI also. Great example this morning I got the Grandview at Las Vegas for $257 with taxes included. That is for a 2 bedroom which is basically two lockoffs. So two separate living rooms, kitchens, etc. Not a dump like some of the other places you will find on sale.

Sale ends today though but the unit typically goes for $400-$500 or so. Still a lot cheaper then finding a traditional hotel room. Lot more room, especially in the lock offs.
