Has anyone ever purchased one? Any recommendations? There are a few on eBay but I don't know where to begin.

The only raclette I'm familiar with is a cheese...used in most true fondues...and frankly good for just about anything else in my book. :D I dont imagine that's what you're talking about though.

It's like a grill, with individual trays to heat up or broil meats, veggies, cheese and anything else you might find interesting.

LOL, This is what I was thinking when I clicked the post. MMM cheese. Then when asked if anyone purchased one I knew I was in the wrong place...:D

I look for product reviews at epinons, Amazon, and some of the price comparison sites like pricegrabber.

We love ours...purchased 27 years ago in San Diego. It's become a tradition for us...once a month for 27 years...except while we are on vacation. Ours is copper...something I do not recommend...too much cleaning.

Enjoy...you'll love it!

The first raclette I ever tried was at a beer hall in Switzerland in about 1981. It is essentially a hot plate of melted cheese, accompanied by potatoes, vegetables, sometimes sausages. Goes really well with a good beer, and essentially is like a fondue without the flame underneath.

Obviously, judging by the picture above, someone has borrowed the name to apply it to something altogether different.
