Hello all - been a while since I last posted. Got distracted and did not think about TSing for a while! Lately I've been reading up again and trying to decide if this is the right thing to do or not. My husband thinks TS are not good but I think for our family, the price can be right. We are smack dab in the middle of the country and only really like to go to Florida (all areas) or California.

We've stayed at HGVC Sea World and liked it; and Newport Coast Villas and loved it. I don't want to pay the higher resale costs for these, however. Seems I can book directly at these resorts off season for ok prices.

I did see a Florida unit for sale that has me a bit interested, however, but want to get some feedback before I get too serious about it. Would any of you buy at Summer Bay - Orlando? It looks like there are only three resort choices in this system so I'd have to belong to RCI as well if I want to do any exchanges, right?

I know I should consider renting first, but I'm a bit hesitant to do that - I like the security of either direct reservations or owning something myself. I can't afford to travel to either coast and find I got scammed. I have a special needs child we travel with and need to know I have what I paid for.

Thanks and look forward to hearing any advise, input, etc.

Thanks, Denise. Any input on the resort itself?

I'm not familiar with it - have you checked the TUG reviews?

Click on TUG Resort Databases in the red bar > Reviews > log-in > search by name.

The main problem with Florida resorts is that Florida is overbuilt with TS's so they are week traders. You can often rent for less than the maintenance fee, because of the glut of rentals.
