Hi All,

This is the first time we are renting out our 1 bedroom unit in Aruba. DH and I will be staying in the lock-off portion.

There is an $11 per day tax fee which is for the entire unit. We were told if we split the unit, the daily tax would be about $10.00 per day for one unit and $9.00 per day for the lock-off.

Is there a way to avoid paying a double tax? We did not include the tax fee in out rental agreement and I feel uncomfortable bringing it up to the renters now.
There is also an $80.00 charge to split the units of which we were not aware.

We have rented our St. Thomas units and never had to pay a tax fee. This is new to us.

I would really appreciate hearing from those of you who have rented partial units as to how you do it to the best advantage.

Thank you
