I own WorldMark by Wyndham timeshares. I recently spoke to a saleman who sells more credits to owners or would-be owners. I said I had heard that individuals purchased timeshare credits outside of the Wyndham channels. He quickly shot back that these credits cannot be added to already existing owners accounts. He also said that if someone sells their timeshare, the purchaser is responsible for maintenance fees. He used me as an example. He explained that at my level, I had fixed maintenance fees and if I chose to purchase outside the "normal channels," I would also be required to pay whatever the maintenance fees were with the new purchase on top of my monthly amount.

Was the saleman correct?

WM points purchased resale can be added to your existing account. You would pay one MF bill for the total amount of points owned. Come to wmowners.com for more advice from owners.

Were his lips moving, he was lying

He quickly shot back that these credits cannot be added to already existing owners accounts. Not true they can added through a combine

He also said that if someone sells their timeshare, the purchaser is responsible for maintenance fees. Seller must be current on maintenance fees before the transfer/combine can occur

He used me as an example. He explained that at my level, I had fixed maintenance fees Incorrect the maintenance fee tables I have see go up to hundreds of thousands of credits. There is a level of developer purchased credits where housekeeping fees are waived ~ $65/Week/Stay

and if I chose to purchase outside the "normal channels," I would also be required to pay whatever the maintenance fees were with the new purchase on top of my monthly amount. Yes Since as you own more credits, you owe for more maintenance fees
