I received my long awaited notice as to the fate of PB Mazatlan now that we are in the final year of our two contracts. They are offering us the opportunity to repurchase a membership at a "discounted" rate. It is actually a really good offer. The system has changed a bit and mirrors the points system at PB Sunset. And if you purchase at the discounted rate, you can only use PB Mazatlan, not the other PB properties (unless you trade through RCI). They are doing an 18 million dollar renovation over a two year period. They will renovate one half of the property each year. There are only studio and 1 bedroom units being offered - the 2 and 3 bedroom units must be going away or saved for rental?
While I love Mazatlan, we will not be buying again. We sold 4 timeshare weeks this year and these two Mazatlan weeks at Pueblo Bonito are expiring so we will be down to only 8 weeks of timeshare and that will be a good amount for us as we want to do some cruises as well. It was tempting though. They are offering Friends and Family to take advantage of the offer. Pricing, including closing costs, ranges from $7120 to 10,980 and must be done before November 1st.
