Does anyone know if Ocean Pointe still uses a preference sheet for room assignment. I know we all put High Floor South view on them but there was a section where you could indicate that you were an owner using you home week.

There used to be a link to it off the resort page but I think that is long gone.

Within our recent room request email, we were asked only if we wanted a room in the "kids area" or "adult area" at Ocean Pointe. No field to add high floor or N/S facing or building. Kids area meant Sailfish or Dolphin building. Adult meant the other 3 buildings. We did email the rooms coordinator after our selections via email to add notes to our request (MVC owner, high floor, closer to ocean, etc). We ended up in Sailfish, which is the most recently renovated (looks nice), but only mid floor and further back from the ocean than we wanted. Still enjoying and loving Ocean Pointe!!

They still use a preference list but they already know if you are owner occupying. You don't have to tell them. Owner occupied multi units or weeks is first and then owner occupied single weeks is second. DC points reservations do not count as owner occupied.

Does it make a difference if I am listed as the "Guest" of a multi-week owner, having rented the unit from him? The owner's name still remains on the reservation, as I understand it. At one time Ocean Pointe asked the owner if he would be occcupying the unit at the time of the reservation. If the answer was "no", the guest would get a very low prilrity with respect to room requests. Thanks in advance for any help.

If the owner is still primary then you likely will get their priority. The preference email will be sent to the owner and then they should forward it on to you. Or you can call and provide your requests directly.

If the reservation shows the owner as primary, and me,the guest, as secondary, will they just automatically assume that the unit is NOT owner-occupied so that I do not receive the owner's normal priority?

It should be the opposite. Owner primary insinuates that the owner is occupying. I thought they always did it that way but a couple weeks ago the rep asked me if I was staying in the room. I said no so they put the guest as primary instead of in the notes.
