We are a 3 generation group going to Vistana Villages. We are celebrating occasions and would like advice on nice places to eat with Grandchildren ages 4 - 12. We have eaten at Bahama Breeze and enjoyed it, but I wanted to offer a couple of alternatives.

Also, any advice on the grands, 6-12 going to Cape Canaveral? Thanks.

Roy's Orlando is top notch -- very good kids meal options as well (include carrots/celery/quesadilla appetizer, entree, and desert). Good Prix Fixe menu for the adults which always includes a fresh fish option (along with appetizer and desert).

Are you looking for accommodation/restaurant recommendations on Cape Canaveral or just day trip? Rusty's is a good place for Seafood near the port. Cocoa Beach is the default recommendation for beaches. HIVC Cape Canaveral is a good place to stay for a short stay with kids since they have a water park with water slide and a decent beach. I would opt for the high-floor ocean view rooms (separate building). Definitely avoid the studios which are part of a 2 bedroom lock-off and have no outside windows.

Thanks for the Restaurant suggestion.

As far as Cape Canaveral is concerned I was wondering if it was worth a day trip there with a 6 year old boy, 8 year old girl and 12 year old boy. Are there displays or activities as well? Thanks.

Are you talking about Kennedy Space Center? It's wonderful. Definitely worth it for kids. Check out their website.

Our (then) 11yo grandson loved the Kennedy Space centre so much he wanted to skip a beach day and return to the center for a 2nd day. You will need a whole day there. it is interesting for all ages. Their website is very informative.

Definitely worth a Day trip, are you staying in Orlando? We have stayed at HIVC at Cape Canaveral it is a great place for kids. I agree with others that KSC is a great place too.
Have fun!

The stretch of South Apopka/Vineland Road that's North of I-4, near Palm Pkwy, is franchise city, but there are a few places worth trying: Joe's Crab Shack (a South Florida institution), El Patron Restaurante (family-owned Mexican), Romano's Macaroni Grill and Miller's Ale House... There's also a Waffle House.

If you can venture out passed Lake Buena Vista, International Drive has anything and everything you can think of and I mean everything. Also, having been born and raised in Titusville, Kennedy Space Center is well worth the trip and you will probably see at least one alligator and snapping turtle, probably many more!

BTW, Roy's is not technically in Lake Buena Vista, but is a stone throw away...
