Hopefully, this will work - Norway Will Become the First Country in the World to Switch Off FM Radio
By Adam Taylor/ World Views/ The Washington Post/ washingtonpost.com

"FM radio broadcasting was invented in the United States in 1933. After a slow start, it became wildly popular all around the world, largely because the frequency modulation technology used offered better sound quality than the existing amplitude modulation (AM) transmissions.

But the era of FM radio may be coming to an end. After more than 60 years of using the system, Norway is set to become the first country in the world to turn off its FM radio network — and others may soon be following its example...."

Ha! Just read the article. They are switching over to Digital Audio Broadcasting. A little DAB'll do ya. It doesn't say whether the same freq range will be reserved for DAB.

Norway Killed the Radio Star
By Jason Daley/ SmartNews: Keeping You Current/ SmithsonianMag.com

Yesterday, FM radio in Norway’s northern city of Bodoe broadcast its last signals, report Joachim Dagenborg and Alister Doyle at Reuters. Over the coming year, the entire FM band in the Scandinavian country will go dark as part of a national switch to Digital Audio Broadcasting or DAB, making Norway the first country to completely ditch FM.

Norway’s parliament voted to phase out of FM last month. Reuters reports that the switch to DAB will allow 8 times as many radio stations in the country of 5 million people, and will save $29 million per station since the country now runs parallel DAB and FM stations. Kate Connolly at The Guardian reports that Norway currently has 26 national DAB stations...."
