I think either of the Marriott Desert Springs properties are excellent. I've also been to Westin Desert Willow and much prefer the Marriott properties. Westin Mission Hills is also beautiful.

We loved Desert Springs 1. The units are large, activities are great, and access to the JW Marriott is just icing on the cake. The golf lessons were so inexpensive (if you don't count buying a new Aero Burner that I fell in love with using on the driving range!), but so much fun! My ideal late Fall or early Spring getaway would be a week at Westin Kierland in Scottsdale followed by a week at DSV1.

Jazzeah, since you posted requests for resorts in Palm Springs, Tahoe, and somewhere to stop in between all withing about 15 minutes of each other, it appears you are in the beginnings of a trip plan. Y'know, TUG members have access to reviews of THOUSANDS of resorts worldwide. And MEMBERSHIP is how TUG supports itself. At $15 a year, it's the greatest bargain in timesharing. Miniscule compared to what you paid for your timeshare and your annual bill. All are welcome here to glean information and to be able to use their timeshares most efficiently, but when you ask for suggestions of one resort or area over another, you're asking for information that is posted for members' use.

Just thought you'd like to know.

OP,

Is this a trip with children or adults-only? If children, then Shadow Ridge has a number of amenities that will appeal to children. If adults, then DSV (I or II) is a great location. I've gone many years in a row to Shadow Ridge with my kids and we've loved it. Please let us know who will be traveling and we can provide more information.

Best,

Greg

"Kids" are 15 and 18 so not so much kids anymore. We are planning 2 weeks in CA and hitting up a few of the Marriott T/S. We will be staying at Palm Desert, Newport Coast, lake Tahoe (looking for suggestions there) and ending in San Fran.

We are at the Marriott desert springs 1 right now and love it. We've been hanging out at JW pool but this unit is so large with a bank of windows facing the golf course. I prefer it to my Westin resorts here we took a little side trip to Kierland villas for a couple days and loved that too
