Looks like they're renovating the old Days Inn on Iyannough Road (#867) and making it a Fairfield Inn. Big one.

This is not to be confused with the Courtyard on Iyannough Road. (#707).

As I was stuck in traffic trying to get home after a nice week on Nantucket, I noticed, sitting there on Rte. 132 (not moving) , north of the Hyannis rotary and just past the Cape Cod Mall, construction on a large Fairfield Marriott hotel, but not a timeshare.

Funny, that despite it not being open as of this post, there are 600+ reviews on TA. Seems that there may be confusion re: where people actually stayed.

Anyway, if you're staying on the Cape or Islands and need to arrive a day earlier or a day later and want a Marriott product, here's the 2nd on the Cape.

It's right near my favorite, Pain D'Avignon (off of the Hyannis/Barnstable Airport rotary) and not far from the Nantucket ferry.

Great question. I should have mentioned that it isn't.

It's a bit up from the Steamship Authority Hyannis Dock, so, it's north of the ocean. If you're familiar with the Barnstable airport in Hyannis, it's a bit north of it, too. It's not far, but not on. That would be nice and Marriott would be wise to build one on the ocean on Cape Cod.

It's hard for me to be more accurate as it took about 45 mins. to get from the dock up to the Fairfield. I would not have noticed it except for the standstill traffic I was in.

This may help: http://www.mapquest.com/us/ma/hyannis

Oh, forgot: The town of Falmouth is voting whether or not to let Marriott build one in the town center. It's not looking good for Marriott, yet:

Thanks for the info. Since I have a lot of Marriott points, we always spend the night in one prior to our morning ferry over to Nantucket. Courtyards are my least favorite Marriotts, so we usually stay at the Residence Inn in New Bedford. I'll check the Fairfield next year.

Sorry you hit bad traffic. When our ferry landed at 5 PM on Saturday, there was little traffic. We hit quite a bit of rain on the way to our overnight stay in Danbury CT, but otherwise had an easy drive. I heard from my friend on the Cape that they had a lot of flooding a couple of days later.

Looks nice! There is a Holiday Inn @Hyannis? Or is it in Yarmouth?

Yes, it does look nice.

Not sure, but that's an easy check with TA or hotels.com, etc. There's a Sheraton in Hyannis. I've attended seminars there before.

Just posting the Marriott listing for those of us dedicated to getting or using Marriott Rewards Points. "It's all about the points" ...... :D
