Aloha all,
I am about to take my Hawaii Real Estate License Test and am now exploring different career options on Maui. I have just gotten a sales job offer from one of the top timeshare companies here on island, contingent on me passing my test by the start date. I started doing a lot of research on timeshares, how they work, the benefits and drawbacks of owning one etc.. and the more I learn about this industry, the more I feel like I cant do sales for a developer.

My question is, can people make a living selling resale timeshare units? I assume I wont be able to make the communion I can from working for a developer, but at least I will be able to go to sleep at night.

Thank You for this site! I have learned so much on here about the timeshare Industry.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip. Is there any situation where buying from the developer makes sense? I know there are some situations where you're excluded in the exchange program (voluntary vs. mandatory) and you wont be able to exchange your week for hotel points if you buy resale.... Are those developer benefits worth the price tag??

Sorry if these questions are vague, I'm trying to absorb as much information as I can, but I am learning that these programs are not cut and dry and can be pretty confusing.
