Mexican timeshare (name of resort removed)

Does anyone know how to find the value of these time shares? I bought in 2008, have a balance, but want to sell. It is four weeks every other year with maintainence fee of $800 on odd years.

The name of your resort has been removed because ads are not allowed in the discussion forums. However, I'm afraid there is no chance that you'd be able to sell a Mexican timeshare with a balance owed on it. It is doubtful that you'd be able to sell any timeshare these days on which a balance is owed. People are giving away timeshares that are paid off and offering to pay maintenance fees and closing costs to sweeten the deal.

To get a good idea of value, go to eBay, sign on. Enter the name of the resort in the search window. Down the left side, check 'completed auctions'. Prepare for the worst. Timeshares in general aren't worth much, Mexican ones even less, and not paid off ones have negative value. Their only value is in their use as vacations. That's why you bought it and that's what it's good for. Sorry.
