I know at one time someone had a picture of the different views but I cannot find it. Planning a trip and trying to decide if Ocean Front is worth the extra points compared to Ocean View. For our two week trip, its a difference of 2000 points, which could be used for another couple of nights.

I'm leaning more toward the Lahina tower, if possible.

Anyone have the diagram that shows where the OV suites are compared to the OF suites? And then personal experience?

Steven,

What is your check-in day? If you are arriving other than a Fri/Sat/Sun, you will most likely be on a lower floor (5th or lower) if you are Ocean Front. If you are a Fri/Sat/Sun, you have a better chance of the higher floor, and will more likely be in Napili Tower because there are more OF rooms there.

Please advise and thanks!

Best,

Greg

Right now we are planning for some time 2018 between June 02 - August 18. It's a very popular stretch and our goal is a Saturday Check-in, staying 2 weeks.

Why does the check-in day matter for high floor vs. low floor availability? I usually grasp these nuances but this one eludes me.

I'm assuming those are week based check in days, and he is assuming there will simply be more turnover supply on those days allowing you a better shot at getting what you want, than the fewer rooms being turned over on any other random day, where you may just be stuck with whatever room is opening up on that given day of the week.

Yes this is my meant -- last year I checked in (early) mid-week and was given a 5th floor room. I asked for a better room and was told that nothing at a higher floor was available until the weekend. They were able to move me up one floor the next day (Thursday) so at least a 6th floor room became available.

I may be over-reading this, but it would make sense to me to reserve the higher floor rooms for the traditional check-in dates -- I know other properties do that (like HHV).

Best,

Greg
