I just want to be sure this doesn't break any II rules: I am an enrolled weeks owner. If I make a reservation, say for a cheap points week at Myrtle Beach in the winter or even a a three bedroom at Imperial Palms, neither of which I own, can if then deposit into Interval for exchange purposes if I used destination points?
Thanks

good evening

short answer....

No...

reservations with enrolled points are an "exchange" thru DC exchange company!!! You would be exchanging in II an exchange made in DC exchange company!!!

It would not pass Marriott's verification process.

I was told Interval runs all the reservations through Marriott to verify size, dates, location etc. Before Interval "fully" takes the deposit.

You can only deposit an owner reserved week in to II, not a reservation made with DC points.

I don't know, but I wouldn't think so. Though one can add a "renters" name to a DC reservation. So one can do private exchanges with DC reservations.

I wanted to do this with MVCIAP points several years ago when I had a bunch of points that would expire if I did not use them (they had already been banked). It was explained to me by a rep that you could use points with II but this had to effectively be a direct use of points. However MVCIAP points can be used in another way with II. It is possible to take 10000 and do a late deposit into II. 10,000 points gets a late deposit week into II and so I was able to get 2 late deposits into II for my AP points due to expire. These then had 2 years before they expired. Such a feature for DC points would be a great additional option.
