We decided to head back to Maui in 2019 and we invited our friends who have come to Kauai with us a couple times.

I only have a one bedroom at the Schooner so I've been checking Trading Places and found a two bedroom for 1-19-19 to 1-26-19. So I deposited my one bedroom and grabbed the two bedroom. Now I just have to wait until the end of January to make my Pono Kai reservation. So two islands in 2019. We haven't done that in awhile. It will be five years since we've been to Maui. Should be fun with friends.

We already have whale season on Maui set for 2018 and 2019! Well, I still need to get a second week for 2019 but I've got time. ;)

I was actually trying to make a reservation with my one bedroom week at the Schooner and I kept forgetting so I was calling later in the morning. Everything was taken by the time I called.

After that happened twice, I checked Trading Places and I saw they had two bedrooms but only until December 2018. So I waited a few weeks and checked again. That when I saw this available so I jumped on it right away. I don't know how long they last in there.

We own at Maui Hill and that is the only place my dh wants to stay when we're on Maui. We trade our week through Trading Places Maui, but for the March 2019 week I have I got that through RCI from a sighting another TUGGER made. At this point I should have a pretty good chance of getting a matching week through TPM. I already have my request in.

I hope that you will like Maui better next time than you did last time from what I remember reading your posts. Maui has beautiful scenery too but you have to drive around to see it.

February seems to be the best month to see the whales but the whales were arriving earlier the last few years so leaving earlier too to our chagrin. We went once in January and were disappointed because we expected many more than we normally see but there were less. Whales are not on a clock so you just don't know from one year to the next but the local people will tell you that February is by far the best month and many say that it is a pea soup of whales. I would love to see that once.

It's not that I didn't like Maui, I just kept comparing it to Kauai which is my favorite. Maui and the Big Island are tied for second. Maybe Maui is my second favorite though since I'm going back to Maui.:)

I really do like Kihei and that's one of the reasons why we own at the Schooner. We've never been in a two bedroom unit there so we're excited to check one out.

I'll be asking for advice later on, I'm sure there have been lots of changes since we've been there last.
