I just wanted to pass along our recent experience with booking OF South with star options. One month prior to our February trip a we added a Friday night/1 night in an OFD premium unit at South. It appeared online and we decided to extend our 2 week trip by 1 night at the front end. We own OFC and thought it would be nice to try out the OFD premium villa.
The night before we depart, a front desk manager from South calls to inform us that the OFD unit is not available. They give us two unit options, 2523 or 8202. We chose 2523 and asked what the issue was. Manager stated they are having issues with OF in South for stays less than one week. Their system is not set up for stays of a few days or less. They are working on it but South OF is really set up for weekly stays with Saturday and Sunday check ins. They apologized and offered us a resort credit as well.
It really wasn't a big deal not to get the unit we booked for one night, but I would have been upset if I had booked it for several nights. Hopefully, this will be worked out for future reservations. Just a heads up to those that are able to book OF South for a few nights with star options, you may want to confirm with the resort directly the week prior.
Another piece of info management shared was when booking OF South with star options, you should always expect first floor.
As an aside, we had a wonderful trip. Resort looks great and villas were in good shape. We stayed in 3630 and 3631. Our first time in building 3 and we loved it. Only thing we missed was the elevator at the end of building 2. The views were just as good from building 3 as building 2.
