Are the search results in interval for cruises assuming a 2 person occupancy? Does it only include the cruise fare and exclude the port fees, taxes, etc...Are these good trades (loaded question I know, depends on what your giving up)?

Usually, comparing the discounted price + the cost of the underlying MF, reserving a cruise through a discounter- like Vacationstogo or cruises.com will cost less. Use timeshares for timeshares- not cruises or airfare. Just my $.02 worth.

I agree with Jim. I once tried for an RCI exchange and it was cheaper to NOT use my week outside RCI.

You can select the number of passengers before you see the cruise price, and taxes/fees are included before you select 'buy'. I have used a 1BR worth of points from my 2BR unit to take $1000 off the price of a holiday cruise. It was worth it to me, as 1) my maintenance/II fees on that unit are only $800/year and 2) I had an excess of points and not an excess of time where they could be used and 3) holiday cruises aren't usually discounted. One thing that I did notice while looking at booking options is that the price does not change much if you use a 1BR vs. a 2BR. So if you have a points account, I recommend checking using different amounts of points to find your sweet spot.

I disagree that "holiday cruises aren't usually discounted". I have received discounts on all my ocean cruises using CRUISECOMPETE.COM
