I'm trying to schedule a tubing weekend in the Pocono area in early February and the only availability is Tree Tops, which is not getting good reviews! I'm okay with dated but not bed bugs!! Does anyone know anything about the place? (I know there's better in the area, but I need multiple rooms)

Thank you. I notice people post negative comments quicker than the positive and this is a large resort. I wanted to check.

We stayed there several years ago and it was dated and old then. We are in the area frequently and there havent been any updates other than the closing of the Fernwood resort across the street which was part of the same complex but separately owned. The downside of that closure is that Tree Tops no longer has use of the amenities that were there, including restaurants, game room and indoor pool.

Fernwood tubing is still open and Shawnee is 5 minutes away but Shawnee like Camelback gets packed with long waits. We have found the best tubing at Big Boulder off route 80 exit 284. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive from Tree Tops.

Big Boulder is very close to Splitrock Resort which has timeshare units that trade through both II and RCI. Some sections are older but even the worst at Splitrock are better than Tree Tops.

Big Boulder is my goal actually! I needed multiple rooms and Split Rock had no availability at all for February, so I found Tree Tops, which I recall from my own ski weekends ages ago! Boulder is the Best tubing in the area and normally a three hour drive from me. Did not know Fernwood closed and I guess that's the indoor pool Tree Tops still advertises - how fraudulent is that?!

Unfortunately, I'm burning expiring points so that's what I get for not paying attention. Tubing and hanging out will be fun in any event.

Thank you both for your input.

There may be another indoor pool that is open, I'm not sure. Hopefully they get some snow and it gets cold enough to make snow.

Treetops

We stayed there about 15 years ago and I rate it the worse timeshare we've stayed in and would probably not return. However, it wasn't that awful. There were 2 indoor pools if I remember correctly. One closer to t/s units. Sorry Fernwood is closed because that made resort better.

We're back from Tree Tops

We just returned from our weekend at Tree Tops and I wanted to thank you all for your help. I knew what to expect going in which was very helpful since I was travelling with another family. While it does need updating, the activities are plentiful and the staff nice and helpful. The onsite tubing was enough for us and we never made it to Big Boulder (mostly because we wanted to zipline and horseback ride) The health department needs to shut those indoor pools down though! Ugh! Luckily there was enough to do otherwise.

Thanks again!

Glad you had a good time.
Tubing at ski parks has definitely spoiled me for old fashioned sleigh riding down the hill at the local community college. Its nice to have a big old soft tube and a magic carpet ride up the hill. It's also nice not to worry about the high school/college kids who look like they are drinking beer and not paying attention to safety of the little kids who are also trying to enjoy the hill.
