Hey Folks - I'm using my CWA points to book a 4 bedroom presidential suite at the Wyndham Indio for my wife's 40th. We've been very pleased with the few Wyndham presidential suites we've stayed in. Anyone have experience with the presidential suites at this property?

The resort gets mixed reviews over the need to update, lack of soundproofing etc. Obviously it being my wife's 40th I want it to be great (we will have family and lots of little kids with us). Any feedback would be great!

Thanks

Reviews in the TUG Marketplace are a little outdated.. The 4BPR is a nice unit if you can get it. Not as upscale as a Bonnet Creek 4BPR unit but still nice and the size and layout is similar. TONS of balcony space with private grilling and I think I remember an outdoor private hot tub on the deck in the 4BPR unit. Have stayed at this location at least 1/2 dozen times but not always in the 4BR. Have gotten there via both WYN and RCI trade. 2BR's are meh.... Worldmark standard. Not horrible, not Wyndham.

There is only one 4BR for Wyndham at this location now that Club Pass has been installed. Wyndham has one building, the rest is Worldmark. Still, overall, its a nice property. DH doesn't really like the on-sight golf because there are too many better and more economical golf options in the area. Getting there is fairly easy off the I-10 if driving. Definitely get a car if flying. Resort sits at the end of some nice residential homes.

Lots of easy access commerce nearby and Costco for fuel and shopping in Palm Desert not too far away. if you are not used to driving in large desert areas plan on being surprised about how spread out everything is. Plenty of interesting things to do and see in the Cochella Valley. Sounds like a fun anniversary trip!

There is be an occupancy tax that you will have to pay and it is based on the unit size. It is more than you think, maybe something like $18.50 per day for the 4 bedroom.

Occupancy tax at the Cali locations of Worldmark w/Wyndam inventory is very true. If you get the 4BPR booked, call the resort and they will tell you in advance exactly what the daily tax rate is for that unit.

Thanks Folks - so glad I just checked to see if anyone had responded recently.

Bella-Wyn, I've reserved the 4br through Wyndham. When you say there is only one, do you happen to know if its a nice one?

Thanks,

Justin
