I recently managed to convince my time share company to take back my contract. During the discussion I was told that since the time share in question was the only one I had that was affiliated with Interval International I would lose my membership in II after I gave up the time share. I am a bit concerned about this since I have some weeks banked with II.
Does anybody know if this is true and if so is there anyway around it??
Thanks.

If this is a corporate membership that you pay for through your maintenance fees, then it will be closed, because it part of your timeshare ownership.

If this is a private membership that you pay for directly, II will not know you have sold your only timeshare, unless you tell them. As long as you pay your membership fees, you can continue your membership indefinitely.

If you own a corporate Acct. I'd contact II right now, and find out what you need to do to roll your deposits over to a private Acct.

Talk to Naomi at #8415 in the exchange dept. She told me my account will be held open until my confirmed exchanges are completed. I just sold and I have an exchange confirmed for Sept 2013.

Your Sheraton fits the "Corporate" Affiliated, If its not Marriott, Sheraton, Shell or Hyatt (Four Seasons ?) I wouldn't do anything, the Getaways would still be available as long as you pay your dues

How did you convince the company to take back the contract? for most of us, that seems an impossibility!
