Does anyone know the rules on changing an exchange. Granddaughter received as a birthday present to go to Acapolco. She has a 6 month old and the flight is 13 hrs from NH, plus she read the US travel advisory for Mexico and is not a seasoned traveler.
Thanks so much

I assume that the exchange was done more than 24 hours ago. If it is less than that the exchanger can cancel the week at no charge and retain the original deposit. Whoever gave her the exchange can cancel and obtain a replacement week for a new exchange or/and retrade for something else. It will cost another exchange fee. It also depends on how far away is the date of travel on the certificate. If it is 59 days or shorter, a retrade will be restricted to 59 days away.

Likely to be $189. If ePlus ($59) was paid (only available within first 5 days of the exchange), then the owner of the week can retrade 3 times without additional cost. If ePlus was not paid, then an additional trade fee of $189 will need to be paid.

.... unless it was not an exchange. II also sells "Getaway" for a generally low price. Those cannot be cancelled or retraded after the first 24 hours. Many weeks (not top resorts and not peak season) cost around $300-$400 per week.

I'm glad you got the answers you need......but 13 hours from MHT to Acapulco (I'm guessing).

United flies there in just 9:40

still much worse than CUN

For those who are concerned about safety, and that includes me, CUN is a much safer place to go than Acapulco.
