Thinking about Key West April or May 2018. Is Hyatt Sunset Harbour, through Hyatt internal points program, difficult to get into? Is April & May a good time to go? How far in advance to request?

I've been told 4 days is OK for visiting Key West?

Thanks for any input.

I would get on the wait list. April will be more difficult to get then May.This is the most popular of the Keys properties but there seem to be a lot of openings for the summer including May as the humidity is so high then.
We found a 4 day on line for mid Sept but it is a studio, not our top choice but we figure we won't be in the room much. Maybe others will add. I am certainly no expert. We stayed at Winward Pointe and did a tour of
Sunset Harbour but it is one we check on regularly for openings. Good luck

I can't speak about the availability for April and May, but Sunset Harbor is the place to stay if you want to be in Old Town. 4 days? Does that mean check in the first day, spend two days, and check out the fourth day? If that is the case, and it's your first visit, you may want a longer stay. For some 4 days will be ok, for most, it won't be near enough. Just my opinion. As far as when to waitlist, the sooner the better. I'm pretty sure its first come, first served. So, the sooner Hyatt will let you be on the list, do it. One last thing, the resort is fantastic but if you get a studio, you will have no view and no balcony.

I've been staying in Key West for MANY years. Recently our stay is 17 days and for us, that's about right. That gives us two "Martini Mondays" at Virgilio's ($5/martini). Six or seven of those is also "about right"....best I can remember!

Kal has it right. We love Sunset Harbor and love Key West even more. We have 5 trips planned for Key West this year from 3 nights to 9 nights and it's never long enough for us.

Okay. Thanks. I have seen the errors of my thinking! Friends give good advice, but TUG gives even better! :)
