We are needing to book a flight using our Advantage miles on a 1 way trip from Barcelona to Houston May 2018. We want to get the 57,000 point business class size upgrade. They of course haven't opened up those flights. We would greatly appreciate advice on how to be there first to grab them. Is it better to do it yourself online or over the phone? Do we need to be on the computer at 12 AM? Do they post the Advantage mile savers then or what is the best way to catch and book them?
Would greatly appreciate your advice!
thanks!

Airlines don't automatically release award tickets on a specific day. Sometimes they stagger the release. That's not to say they may release at 330 days out but they may not. Don't forget that Iberia and Air Berlin are One World partners. For that reason, I would call unless you see the tickets you want on line.

If you don't get what you want immediately, you may be able to put a substitute on hold and call back each day to see if you can get your desired ticket. Probably the best way is to use expert flyer to see what availability exists.
