We received a call from Olympia Investors offering a price of $6450.00 for leasing our Grand Mayan unit. They sent us information that indicates that they have a lessee ready, willing, and able to complete this transaction and the broker has a 9% set commission due at closing. Furthermore upon acceptance, owner must sign this letter of intent and attach a copy of the contract cover sheet and/or maintenance fee bill as proof of ownership and send both documents to the email address. It sounds totally weird to me. Their website : olympia invest.com lacks any specifics. What do you think this is?

It's a common scam - once they have you hooked, they are going to require an upfront fee, and once you pay the fee, you will never hear from them again.

Actually, this does not sound weird at all. We hear of this all the time on TUG. And as Denise said, it is a common scam. You might be surprised by how many TS owners fall for this scam.

The fact that you received an unsolicited phone call, coupled with an offer that's way too good to be true, indicates that this is a very common scam.

Is the $6450 to just rent the week out for one year? Or multiple years? Or to sell it outright? You mentioned leasing which sounds like renting, but $6000+ for a week that can be rented by many on II Getaways for less than $1000 and in many cases less than $500 is definitely way too good to be true. And when something is too good to be true, it usually is.

Believe it or not this company operates in Mexico City with a front company address in the US in Kansas
