Just FYI....if someone has went recently, or is considering. I HIGHLY suggest against. You are basically paying $7000+ to join RCI. Just get a $1 timeshare (any one will do that trades via RCI) and then you can use the "extra vacations" on RCI>
So, I have read some old threads regarding GVEC, but it seems the sales may have been different a year ago. I do own a traditional week and my MF are about $1100/year. If I want to exchange it is about $100 II membership fee and exchange fee ~$190. For a total of $1390 for a week to exchange per year. $1100/yr to use home resort.
This is what they offered:
-$7000 with "free" upgraded family plan
- $249 (HOA $ /RCI yearly $ ) --this takes place of MF.
- Can book unlimited weeks with Family plan....the "average" is $499. They did bring up live inventory to choose from and this was accurate cost. These are RCI "extra vacations."
- One week you have 10,000 points to use to book a Last call (1-30 days) trip
- It is perpetuity, but not deeded like a traditional time share. (but, I think DVC is also this same way and many have no problem paying for that AND ...it "expires")
Basically, you are Paying $7000+ to "join RCI" because the 10,000 points you are purchasing can only be used for "last minute vacations"...They definitely do NOT sell it as a points system.
It is sold as "you get four weeks" and one must be a <30 days in advance.
