First trip to the Riviera Maya area. I have stayed at both the royal mayan and royal islander in cancun on prior visits. What is available to choose from is a 1br at the GM vs a 2 br at the MP. I would really like the extra room but have read the GM is newer/nicer. Although I have read the pool is bigger at the MP. Does either have a lazy river yet? specifically if I stay at the MP what will I be excluded from using? thank-you so much, Dawn

Take a look at this thread. Post #30 specifies what pool facilities each resort has access to.

Personally, I would go with more room at MP. Was there 2 years ago. It was fine. Not shabby. Going to Grand Mayan in Nuevo in a few weeks. I don't think there is really a big difference anymore. Both are mid level properties at Vidanta Resorts. Just refuse the tour!!!!!!
