Having been scammed at least twice using upfront payment brokers, I concluded last year that the best way to unload my timeshare at The Grandview at Las Vegas was to follow the owner's instructions and file a Quit Claim Deed. I've done all that, with the Clark County NV Recorder's Office acknowledging my Deed this past January. What I failed to see was that the resort company would not accept the property as a Grantee. So I'm looking for someone who is willing to take it off my hands. The timeshare is for a two-unit "double lock-out" for Week #13. It comes with a membership in RCI that yields 98,000 points annually. The 2016 Maintenance Fee is $735. I have paid all the transaction fees and am willing to pay the final $250 fee to the resort's owner, Eldorado Resorts, if someone will agree to take ownership of the property and assume the ongoing maintenance obligation.

This is hard to follow. Whose name is on the deed? Who does the resort acknowledge as the owner? Those things have to add up to transfer to another another owner.

It sounds like he tried to deed it back to the resort without their authorization and they would not accept it:
What I failed to see was that the resort company would not accept the property as a Grantee.

Now he'd like to give it away to a private individual.

To the OP - to avoid problems like this is the future, I'd use a reputable closing company. You will have to start over with all new Docs to transfer the deed to someone else. Also, you will have to file Docs to "undue" the quit claim deed you already filed.

This is who I use:

L.T. Transfers
Lisa Short and Mary Pless

BTW - your title is confusing. I'm going to edit it for you.

WOW 98k RCI points annually at Grandview Las Vegas? This is a great opportunity for both someone just looking to get started, or someone looking to add more points to their account. If I didnt have a bunch of points already, I'd take it.

I am interested in taking the ownership!

Is this timeshare ownership you have fully paid with Grandview or you still have a balance? Let me know how I can get in touch with you.

Good luck with your transfer! It's a great deal - we have a 2br week 12 at the Grandview (got on eBay from Sumday Vacations), and the 98k points is more than we need in a year or we would take it.
