Hi Melissa,

How can we confirm that the extra weeks are transferrable through RCI?

No you only pay one maintenance fee. However you do pay the exchange booking fee of $230 I think it is for those extra weeks. Not exactly free but still pretty darn cheap! The extra weeks are something you get as Vacation Village owners. Grandview Las Vegas is a Vacation Village resort.

Yes, still available. I will verify that the 2 extra weeks are are transferable. They are called Extra Vacation Gateway and can be booked from 2-45 days prior to departure, for available resorts (no fixed weeks) . The certificate I have claims that no deposit or exchange of the vacation week owned is required to enjoy these extra vacation weeks ( so you can have your week in Las vegas at no fee and still be entitled to those 2extra weeks). I only pay 1maintenance fee, there are no maintenance fees for the 2 extra weeks and no charge if they are not taken. The RCI exchange fee applies to using thse weeks.

How do you get those weeks? do they just show up in your account at RCI? (I have a week at Grandview is why I'm asking).

Look on the right side of the page on the RCI website under My Offers. On the bottom of the list you will see Vacation Village-Extra Vacation Certificate. You still have to pay the booking fee so they aren't entirely free.

hmmm, not there. I remember seeing one, one time, and then it expired unused I think. With the new look of the website, I am pretty sure I followed your directions and looked where you say, but it's not there. I have a "week" not points with my Grandview.

Sorry I'm points. I don't know what the opening page for weeks owners looks like but apparently it is a lot different from what I see. You will have to call RCI and ask them where you find it on your home page unless another weeks owner responds to your post.

Melissa, is this week a "points" week or a "weeks" week in RCI if you deposit it?

Hi everyone,

so sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys. I live in Quebec Canada, and you may have seen on the news the floodings we had in the spring. My parents were affected and it has been a nightmare to help them save the house and then to gut the entire basement and re-build, all while trying to figure out how the government can help financially. I spent an enormous amount of time helping them and just put this matter aside. Again, so sorry for the delay.

So the 2 extra weeks are not points or weeks deposited into your account. they are bonus weeks that you can book up to 3 months in advance for a selection of hotels chosen by RCI. there are quite a bit to choose from, but it does require some flexibility and sense of adventure (I guess!) on your part.

I called RCI to ask if these extra vacation weeks were transferable but they were not entirely sure (I just spoke to someone who does bookings over the phone, so probably not the best person to ask). They recommended I contact my home resort, which I will do. Hopefully, I won't have to fight for this to be transferred along with the ownership.

Thanks for your patience.

I bought a Grandview on the resale market in 2015 and the Bonus Weeks transferred to me. The bonus week selections seems to be Last Call caliber properties with some Vacation Village properties thrown in.

The Grandview is a wonderful timeshare in Las Vegas. How can you go wrong with a casino right next door. Wonderful pools and wonderfully appointed rooms. I never had a problem finding a place to park. However I suggest asking for floors under 9-12 if you are a non smoker. The top floors are smoking units. I will say the windows are a tad dirty and hard to look out of on the upper floors. With that said it was my only complaint. I had absolutely no problem with the staff in getting my room changed to a lower floor, as I am a non smoker. I would highly recommend this place to anyone including my worst enemy.
