Hi all..
Been enjoying our HGVC ownership...thanks to all for the invaluable info that I've received here.
I have a question...probably answered before, but can't seem to find it.
Is this the error message you get when someone hops onto a reservation (open season, in my case) just before you get it....I'm able to enter my cc info, but when I try to confirm, I get "Sorry for the inconvenience, if this occurs again (something to this effect) please contact a club counselor." I've lost two opportunities for open season dates for the location that I wanted...perhaps I was just too slow. A little concerned since I'm still trying to secure the dates and the HGVC office will be closed this long weekend. Thanks again.:ponder:

Also, the two times that I've gotten the error message, it was after business hours, so I wasn't able to reach a club counselor for help. :(

From what I've heard, it happens becuz the klunky "Revolution" availability data is old news. It loads all of it's inventory data at a single point in time, like when you first open it, and the data set may even be older than that, so you're not getting anything close to real time.

IMHO, the old (now departed) "Classic" system handled this much better, showing all OS availabiliy on a single page, including that of outside affiliates.

Supposedly, HGVC is working on bringing us "Revolution II" -- a new and improved system... Don't hold your breath.

I think I finally got my OS reservation this morning! A little worried though as I still haven't gotten an email confirmation (two hours ago...wonder if it is b/c the HGVC office is closed), but I do see it under My Reservations in Revolution.

Also, thanks again Talent for your reply...what you say concerns me a little b/c I don't remember logging in this morning when I saw and booked the OS reservation, and Revolutions should have timed out from last night, right? I do have a reservation number, but after the problems I've had booking the last week, I won't feel entirely convinced that I have a reservation until I can confirm it with a counselor on Tuesday.

If I had a penny for every time I got to the final confirmation in Revolution and received the error showing part of my reservation is unavailable, well, I'd have a lot of pennies.

Classic was real-time. Revolution is not. It's readily apparent in high-demand resorts where only one room is available on the dates you're reserving, or, in your case, open season at any resort where you're booking the only available room. Someone else got there first, Revolution just doesn't know it yet.
