I have an AC that is going to expire soon as below. Does it worth to spend $99-189 extend for another 6-12 months? I might want to take an extra week trip in Hawaii during Nov or Dec, but not sure it has enough trade power to even see anything unless the Hawaii unit is 1-2 days before check in date. What is your thought on extending this AC?

I could not imagine any AC being worth extending unless your circumstances have recently changed and now you want to and can either travel very last minute or to 2nd and 3rd tier resorts in areas with an overabundance of timeshares like in Orlando or Williamsburg during less popular times and don't have other means (deposits or new AC's coming in) to get there.

I agree, you aren't going to have enough power for a Hawaiian unit more than a couple of days before check in.

II would make so much more money on AC extensions if they allowed to search availability before extending. As it stands now you cannot search unless you first pay to extend. It is really difficult to know what the AC will pull since it is usually scarce and changes by the minute.

Thank you SmithOp, I was thinking that there was a way to put a OGS in that I was not aware of... I hope to be able to use one of these someday soon...thanks so much

You can put in an OGS with some (but not all) ACs. If you can do so, there will be a button to click on that says "Place Request" in between the "Redeem" and "Extend" options as shown above.

The AC's that allow an OGS are the ones that can see forward a year. These are the types that are given for deposit promotions.

I received two and they are coded to see extremely low rated resorts. They were offered for depositing Marriott units during peak demand time and II should be ashamed of themselves for coding them so poorly.
