Destination points immediately available?

I'm new to the destination program. I chose to use one of my Marriott weeks in the points program. I submitted the request online a week or two ago. The points haven't shown up and I was wondering if it takes awhile to process? I got a confirmation email that my request was received and couldn't be changed.. but no confirmation # and still no points in my account. The week is still showing occupied with a summer check in date. So confused?

Hi. Your ownership level (based on how many points you own or can convert enrolled weeks to in total) determines the deadline by which you must elect to convert any of your enrolled weeks into points. The earliest deadline is September 30th. It sounds like you have made a reservation to use your week as a week in the summer of 2018, but now would like to use the week as points instead?

My suggestion is to call MVCI Owner Services immediately. Explain that you have changed your mind on how you would like to use this enrolled week for 2018. First, ask them to cancel the existing reservation. This should put the week back in your account as 'unused'. After that, tell them you would like to elect points for your 2018 usage. This can all be done in the same telephone call. I would do it today while you are thinking about it. The number is 855-682-4847. Good luck.

OH!! Thank you.. yes, I had my reservation already made a few months ago before I enrolled. Thank you so much!
