I am brand new to this site, so I apologize if this has been asked before or is the incorrect place to post my question.

I have Wyndham points (not weeks). I currently have an ongoing search request through RCI for DVC. I can't seem to find the information I'm looking for.

My question is: (assuming you have enough points and are flexible schedule-wise) Can you book more than just one week, or is always the set 7-night stay? I am asking because I would like to do something like 9-nights instead of 7. I suppose if I had enough points and the availability was there, I could book two 1-weeks stays back to back, but I'm not sure I want 2 full weeks.

This then leads me to another question: If this was my only option (booking two 1-week stays back to back and was okay with wasting points), could I just tell Disney that I was only planning on 9-nights and not 14?

Does anyone have experience with this kind of situation?

Thank you for your help!

GET your 1 week RCI exchange .. and RENT a 2 night stay at the same resort and same size unit from a DVC owner. And then call the resort, and ASK if they can keep you in the same unit (usually, the resort will).

If you can NOT get a 2 night stay in same resort ... book a 3 night overlapping stay .. so the family is not HOMELESS from 9AM to 4PM and later....

In addition to the $239 fee to book the week there is also a $190 fee associated with booking through RCI that you will pay at check in. Both of those fees would be per week. If you book the extra couple of nights you need through a DVC owner I'm not sure but I believe you wouldn't pay the $190 fee.

I'm guessing you are wanting to have both weekends so you would want either a Friday or Sunday check in date to keep the extra two nights you need together in one reservation.

Jan is right. I've done this a few times with just two of us, and have booked a single hotel room for the extra night to get to an 8-night stay. Given the exchange fees, the hotel will come out ahead if you can swing a single room.
