This ebay listing has one, two, or three asterisks next to some of the resorts. I asked what they mean. The question and answer are at the bottom of the listing.

It seems that you can't get reservations at some resorts at certain times of the year (e.g., summers in Myrtle Beach and Newport, RI aren't available, Smuggs is limited availability in the winter). So you can ARP into Myrtle Beach resorts but not during the summer? Is that it?

**The ARP for Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort is available for stays between Labor Day and May 31. From May 31 to Labor Day reservations may be requested during the standard reservation window.
***The ARP for Wyndham Vacation Resorts Smugglers’ Notch Vermont® currently has limited availability for the month of July. Reservation requests are currently not available for stays between December 16 and December 31.
****The Advance Reservation Priority for Wyndham Vacation Resorts Emerald Grande at Destin is available for stays between February and December. Reservation requests are not available for stays in January.

Okay, but the explanation for a single asterisk in the Directory is quite different than that in the ebay listing.

Is it possible that those 'limited availability' times are during demands timeframes and owner who bought fixed weeks during that time back in the day didn't want to change to points?
