Christmas Markets in Bavaria and Salzburg

The Christmas Markets are great. I used to visit Salzburg on business a few times a year, its a fantastic city. Unfortunetly i never managed a visit at Christmas.

As for Bavaria,I have only been to Munich at Christmas time. I really enjoyed the large Christmas Market in the shopping district. I found it very festive with lots to look at or purchase, as well tasty food and drink. We also visited a few of the smaller markets in other parts of Munich, those we often more local with less touristy stuff. Unfortunetly I don't recall the names of those markets.

We got some good advice on Markets to explore from the hotel Concierge, you check with them when you get there. Have you been to Christmas Markets before? I think you will really enjoy them. Definetly check out the big market at Marienplatz one evening.

That will be our first stop. Hotel is a couple of blocks away.
