I haven't stayed there, but since Starwood hasn't made it part of the SVN, I suspect that the quality isn't high enough? Have your read the TUG reviews for this property?

Not a winner

I have stayed there and I used to own there. It was a big disappointment. The outside architecture is pueblo style and is very attractive. However, the units are very poorly designed with tiny kitchens and bathrooms. The construction quality is also poor, and the two "swimming pools" are a joke. I've seen hot tubs bigger than those pools. There are many MUCH better options in the Phoenix/Scottsdale/Cave Creek area.

Go to Rancho Manana. There's usually quite a bit of availability on-line. Verrry nice. Not so great for families. with older kids though. It's down the road from Villas of Cave Creek. By the way, we own at VCC & we like it very much. But then we like the small, quiet condo type places more than big mega resorts. Different strokes.

We traded into Cave Creek twice and we enjoyed staying there very much. I think the villas are well appointed, southwest decor very pretty and comfortable. The villas are two floors, and the 2nd floor is very private with a bedroom, sitting room, bathroom for added privacy. There is a very nice patio area in each villa. Hot tub and washer, dryer are outside the back of each villa. The pool is small but not many people were out there. It's also very very quiet at this resort. The only negative issue is that there really isn't anything for the kids to do. This wasn't an issue for us, since we didn't have any young children with us. I don't understand the negative comments, it's a great quiet resort and we really did enjoy our two visits. Give it a try you might be pleasantly surprised.

Ok so cave creek is just ok- desert oasis good?

Yes - it's in the SVN. It has a very nice pool area. Main complaint I've read is that the over-sized furniture seems too big. If you join TUG you can read lots of member reviews in the member's only TUG review area.

We also own at Desert Oasis. Nicely appointed units & large pool (and smaller adults only pool.) But the rooms are tiny. And the patios are tiny. And the complex is large so lots more people & noise. I much prefer VCC but like I said earlier, we like the smaller, quieter timeshares. Cave Creek is a short drive away from the siteseeing but SDI isn't any better. It isn't walking distance to anything.

That being said, either would be a very nice vacation experience. It just depends on what you prefer. Big pool, on-site activities & small but very nice rooms OR small pools, private hot tub, few organized activities & large but not posh rooms.

To the OP - if you join TUG you can access the reviews here, and there are lots of them for the 3 resorts you asked about. Interestingly there are rather varying opinions about all of them, so depending on your specific needs and interests one may be better for you than the others.

Personally I'm with Julie - I'd go to Rancho Manana!

We traded in to Cave Creek about 2 years ago and have to agree with Steve. Although the unit is very big, the bathrooms are tiny and poorly designed. The kitchen is also poorly designed.

The pools were also very small and fully shaded. ( not at all like the picture in II) So if you're there in the winter, it hard to find a place in the sun.
