Have not stayed here since 2008. I know there have been many changes regarding exit and entrance to the property. We don't plan to rent a car and will spend a good amount of time on the property but would like to take a few trips to the marina, downtown, and certainly to Bucerias. Would love the option of taking the bus sometimes. Anyway, would appreciate any and all advice.

Should have been more explicit. Is it easy to get a taxi from the lobby? Seem to remember catching bus across main highway, but that might have been Riviera Maya. So my question is really about logistics. We are in our late sixties....still ambulatory :)

Hi Linda ,
The easiest way to catch the bus is to walk over to the Vidanta SEA GARDEN via the beach .

There is an OXXO about 100 yds from the front entrance / driveway of the Sea Garden . All the local busses and collectvos stop in that area .
I believe the grey bus ( ATM brand ) goes to PV running one direction and Buscarias the other way .

We took a collectivo / Nissan Minivan to San Juan de Abejo . We asked a Vidanta/ Grand Mayan employee who was getting off how it worked and he explained how to get to his town .

To walk to the SEA GARDEN - you exit onto the beach at the Grand Mayans and walk about 1200
feet . You go past 5 non-Vidanta condo buildings .
.
