There is at least an hour left in the day in the Eastern time zone. More hours in places like Hawaii. I am sure there is perhaps a margin of error in these things, perhaps a few million years.

Sure. Just like life insurance. If you can file a claim, the insurance will pay up.

If an apocalypse is a revelation of a cataclysmic event I doubt it is covered under a trip insurance policy. However, if it was an Armageddon that disrupted your insured trip, I think it should.

Even though I think it should there could be exclusions. There usually is.
