I just received the following all owners bulletin from Bluegreen:


To Our Valued Bluegreen Owners,

We have recently been made aware that a company by the name of Timeshares by Owner has been making unsolicited calls to many of our owners with offers to sell and/or rent their Bluegreen timeshare interest or use rights for an upfront fee. There are reports that this company claims to be affiliated with Bluegreen. Please be aware that Bluegreen is not affiliated with Timeshares by Owner, nor have we authorized the disclosure of your contact or ownership information to them.

In the event you are contacted by this company, you are advised to deal with them at your own risk as you would with any company. If the caller indicates that they are affiliated with or acting on behalf of Bluegreen Corporation, we request that you obtain the name of the representative who contacted you and immediately call Bluegreen Owner Relations at 800.456.CLUB(2582) to report the call and provide the details you have collected. Or, you may email us the information by visiting the Contact Us page on the Bluegreen website.

Nice letter/notice.
TSBO is the company you can bet is selling most any TS on eBay priced at 10-20 times what it will sell for. They are ridiculous and will tell you that your TS will sell for whatever they think you want to hear, just to get their upfront fee.

Bluegreen Resale update

Effective February 21, 2007 Bluegreen is enforcing restrictions on the resale’s of their timeshares. If you are in the Preferred program, VIP program or basic membership (I.E. Bonus time and day use at Club Component Sites) and Enhanced/Traveler Plus membership, you will not be able to transfer these programs to a buyer on the resale market. The only way a buyer can be apart of these programs is if they buy directly from the resort or an authorized club reseller.

This however does not affect any other part of a Bluegreen benefits. So a buyer can still exchange with RCI or into other Bluegreen properties.

At the very least, your email address must be on file with them. Since I also subscribe to the newsletter, I can't tell if that's why I'm on their list or because my email address is on file.
