Has anyone heard anything about this resort? RCI claims I can't get my exchange fee credit if they are still open.

They had some damage but not as extensive as some of the timeshares. They are probably unable to determine yet when they will be able to reopen. There is a very active St. Maarten Facebook page that has a lot of info about the island and its status. I've seen postings from several timeshares who have announced they are closed through 2017, but most haven't yer been able to make an assessment. Given the damage to communications, infrastructure, etc., many staff are still in survival mode.

Thanks so much for this information. I have been following the St. Marteen page and just read that others are waiting as well.

The big problem with St Maarten is with the their airport. I do not believe commerical fights are back on schedule.

The airport is not open for commercial flights yet. Planes were landing for evacuations and now to bring in supplies but the airport building needs lots of work before they can handle regular passengers, based on the photos I've seen.

Our family owns there, and we're in a Friends of Belair Beach FB group which just linked to their website (www.BelairBeach.com). Looks like it is officially closed from now until November 30th.
