We will be there for two weeks. We aren' t renting a car. The Vidanta map shows numerous ATM's on the property. My bank card was skimmed at an ATM in an OXOX store last time. Do prefer an inside bank ATM but would have to go to Bucerias or PV. So do you frequent Vidanta guests use their ATM's? If so any problems. Do they give a decent rate? I know all resort charges are via credit card.

I used an on property ATM last Feb numerous times and had no issues . I believe they are bank ones ( perhaps Santander? )

I avoided using off property machines due to TUG posted issues (esp Cancun in 2015 ) similar to your problem .

You can exchange money in the bank over at Paradise PLAZA. Remember to take your passport. They will give a better rate than at the resort.

I just checked my map from November 2016. There are 4 ATM machines at the resort - one in the Grand Mayan not far from the lobby, one at the Grand Bliss, one at LaPlaza, and one in Building 1 of Grand Luxxe. They are bank ATM's so you get the current exchange rate.

I always assumed that Vidanta got a cut, mainly because they give a low rate of exchange on dollars.
I'll have to test it next summer.
In Cabo San Lucas now and restaurants definitely low-ball the dollar in their choice of payment in pesos or dollars.
On another note, shark tank dude offered (I made the rookie mistake to stop when asked a question ) 400 US then 500 US dollars for GM presentation. Offer declined.

Playa Grande in CSL is giving 19.7 to the US dollar. I used a bank ATM downstairs from th lobby, but the receipt doesn't give the ex change rate.

Just checked my Capital One account online, the rate given was 20.919 pesos to a dollar, or $.0478 for a peso.

FYI - there is a Santander ATM in the VIdanta Sun Market next to the Sea Garden .
Useful if you are heading to the Nuevo Marina restaurants or elsewhere where pesos are needed .

We did not visit Eddie's this year / in 2016 it was still cash only .
****
PS: there is also a Santander ATM in the MP PV - Marina ( our week 2 - 2017 )
lobby area behind the hostess / bracelet desk .
and to the right of the Travel Agency office .
