I received two different emails this morning supposedly from Amazon saying that I may have won something. Neither email addy was an Amazon address. So this is something new to me. I forwarded both to Amazon and they will investigate.

Please be vigilant people ~ Ron

I get those darn near daily. Most get trapped by my spam filter, but occasionally one sneaks through. Yes. look at who's sending you email before opening anything, and assume that ANYTHING promising that you've won something for nothing is like a Nigerian Prince needing a little help.

I've been getting scam emails that state my Amazon order has been cancelled and I am supposed to click on something for details. I didn't have an Amazon order in the pipeline so I stayed clear.

I can see how someone who has a real Amazon order may be tempted to click that link.

I liked the Snapple ad that says the first spam was sent by telegraph in 1864, from a prince.
"He just needs our social security numbers... We're gonn'a be rich!... Horses for everyone."

That's funny. A bit factually-challenged, since Social Security Numbers didn't start till 1936. But funny, for sure. :)

I get this one about once a month. If I was new to the internet, I would fall for it, and I bet a lot of people do.
