airline status match-keep preferred seats after 90 days?

so, Delta/United are offering matching of preferred status for 90 days. I see that on a flight from NYC-FCO almost ALL window/aisle seats are preferred (and it says available for purchase at 45 days out). Well, for summer travel, most of those will be gone at 45 days and we have 4 persons.
If I status match (from AA gold) to get access the preferred seats (using Delta FF miles), will I keep my seat reservation when the 90 days ends and I am back to commoner status?

I am pretty sure the answer is yes, but I would call the airline and ask.
