there is a Wyndham stand at my local mall and they are harping a special: one week for $50 and attending a presentation.

has anyone done this? id happily give up 2 hrs of my time and $50 for a week at a resort, but im sure there is a catch.

The catch is you will be subjected to an intense hard sell. You will feel like you need a bath by the time you are done and will probably be in a bad mood the rest of the week.

Two strategies: (1) Skip it altogether. (2) Go, buy something, and rescind immediately thereafter.

There is probably small print somewhere on the form that say, you authorize them to contact you about offers in the future. In other words, you authorize them to call you even if your phone number is on a no call list.

The "free week" is probably the same useless certificate I was given to attend a presentation. The certificate can only be redeemed on the dregs of the dregs, within 30 to 90 days of travel (but the 90-day availability is almost nil). The certificate is issued by Endless Vacation Rentals. Maybe they call it that because you will be endlessly looking for something decent to redeem it:hysterical:

isnt it a lot more work to buy and rescind than it is to just not buy at all?
