Looks like the buyer also gets a 50% discount on the 2017 usage since the 2016 and 2017 fees cover the 2017 usage.

MF with the VSN membership fee is $835.00. You can use your week, which is Labor Day weekend or use upon availability in the Gold Plus Season (1-4, 18-23, 36-43, 48-50)

WLR is a voluntary resort. $140 VSN fee will be taken off the above fee, which should bring it down to the basic $695 MF per year.

Yes it is. Can you please clarify why the total transfer fees are $650?

Yes it is.
Just sent a private message to the OP, but again, just being cautious and believe the "Yes it is" refers to my earlier question.
If this is Westin Lagunamar my wife and I are interested.
Can someone help out with the "WLR" and what that refers to?
I would imagine as this is a 2 bedroom lockout, it can be split and used over 2 weeks. Most likely a 1 week as a 1 bedroom and 1 week as a studio.
Any in site would be appreciated.

WLR is just the initials for the resort.

It is a lock-off: 2 BED / 2 BATH L/O

Are there any limitations as this would be a resale unit?

VSN = Vistana - the management Co. that bought out Starwood.

Restrictions: You can only make reservations at WLR, for they type of unit you own, during the season that you own.

It cannot be converted to StarPoints or StarOptions.

It cannot be used to make reservations at other resorts.

I figured that would be the case but nice to have it confirmed, thanks.
Depositing into II may provide more options (the season is fine for our purposes) but if that is the case it may be better to find something with lower MF's?

I understand it is a lockout unit, so would WLR allow for spliting the unit into 2 weeks (if available) or would the week need to stay as a 2 bedroom/1 week?

Ultimately, we would like to be able to stay 2 weeks at a time as it cuts our flight expenses in half. We are almost 7 years away from retiring so every other year also works well for now. We stayed here in November of 2016 for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it. We used II and exchanged in using 2 weeks from a 3 bedroom at Westgate that we use to own (no longer yay). First time using II and it was pretty painless. We stayed in a studio unit which was perfect but having a larger unit would be a nice upgrade. My wife has food allergies, so cooking our own meals is necessary and far superior to any meal plan or all inclusives as we don't drink either.

There is a $300 fee to transfer at Lagunamar. Laguanmar has a special transfer process since it is a trust. I suspect the $350 is the closing fee to the closing company.

With the week, you can split it and stay in the 1BR side one week and then move to the studio side for the second week. Or you can opt to just stay in the 2BR for one week.

It appears this is a floating week, (based on availability for the weeks identified above), but would there be an additional fee for splitting it?

Sorry for all the questions. These are questions I will need to confirm with the OP but I know there are very knowledgeable people here ready to help out.

Availability is pretty open at Lagunamar. As long as you aren't trying to reserve a peak holiday week, getting two weeks back to back is fairly easy as long as you reserve in the home resort preference 8-12 months out. I don't think Vistana has a lock off fee like Marriott does.

Thank you all for answering Jim's questions. I always refer people to Tugg when I don't know the answer because I want them to find true answers which I cannot provide them with not being an owner. We have an ice storm coming our way so I'm hoping to sleep in tomorrow

I think I have this figured out but just to confirm,

This as a resale unit would have the following abilities or lack of.

2 bed/ 2 bath with L/O

Odd years usage (first usage this year, which is a bonus)

Deeded week 36, unit(s) 23 and 24 building 1300

This is a Gold Plus Season deed so we would be able to (based on availability), change without any fee a week in 1-4, 18-23, 36-43 and 48-50.

Maintenance fees are paid yearly and are approximately $695 USD.

(We will have to look into the VSN membership to see if there is any value for us.) Any insite on this would be appreciated.

We could split this into a 1 bedroom and a studio to get 2 weeks (based on availability)

We would not be able to book outside of WLR through their system.

We could deposit this as a 2 bedroom or split it and deposit it in II and this would open up other opportunities. (however, I’ve read that II are now charging additional fees to upgrade to more bedroom even if the resort is of lesser value)

Is there anything else we would or should know about this?

Thanks

It is not a choice in getting VSN membership on a resale voluntary resort. This resale WLR will not be able to participate in the VSN internal trading network.

Also, this is not a fixed week, which means you will have to book your week(s) within the season period, not a "change".
