If you're not planning on using them then why not rent them out and cash in? You likely could get 50 cents per point.

You could also bank them. From the FAQ:
  • Owners and Select Members may bank Points to the next Use Year; the election deadline is six months prior to the end of the original Use Year
  • Executive Members may bank Points to the next Use Year; the election deadline is four months prior to the end of the original Use Year
  • Presidential Members may bank Points to the next 18-months usage period; the election deadline is four months prior to the end of the original Use Year
  • Chairman's Club Members may bank Points to the next 24-months usage period; the election deadline is four months prior to the end of the original Use Year.

I too have this question. If the points are ones that cannot be banked into the next year, can they be used for anything else? Marriott gift cards, rounds of golf airline miles? Has anyone done this?

Travel insurance is something that people have used them for in the past.

Can you deposit your point with interval? I think you will have 2 more years
or exchange with other members for future vacations.

If these are Marriott Destination Points, they are banked with Marriott (at no cost), not deposited with Interval.

Be mindful of the deadlines jeepie set out in post #3.

You can bank your Points with MVC, if they have not already been banked previously.
You do have the option too though of depositing them with Interval for use in non MVC resorts.
Or you could consider renting them out.

I missed the banking deadline and I'm not sure I can find a window of time to use them before 12/31. I was thinking of renting them. I've rented weeks on redweek.com, but what is the best way to rent points?

www.vacationpointexchange.com

Your mistake may cost you, don't expect prime prices given the limited use of the points.

We were able to get a golf certificate for a family member several years ago, but the location options weren't very good. For the insurance option, it was more points than we had available.
