How is the weather in mid May in Myrtle Beach? Warm enough to hang out at the pool and perhaps get in the ocean? Or is the water too cold?

Also, I know biker weeks are in mid/late May. How is Ocean Watch during biker week? Do many bikers stay here or elsewhere? Is the resort far enough away from the any craziness?

Great weather. There is a fair amount of bike traffic on Highway 17 during bike week but more in 'downtown' Myrtle Beach. Oceanwatch is between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, so not as bad (except on the main highway). I haven't seen any bike traffic staying at Oceanwatch. The pools will be great. The ocean will be cold. It's a great time of year to be there (ahead of the summer heat and crushing crowds).

Thanks. Figured it would be great pool weather, but the ocean would still be a little chilly.

I was curious if and how many bikers actually end up staying at Ocean Watch...given it's a bit further North in N. Myrtle...vs 'downtown Myrtle'. Sounds like...not a concern given most of the bikers stay further South and activities aren't in N. Myrtle.

When I have stayed there around Bike Week previously, I haven't noticed any 'bikers' on the property.

We're at Ocean Watch now. The last couple of days have been cool and rainy, but the rest of the week has/will be sunny and warm enough (upper 70's to mid-80's) to enjoy the pools and ocean. I can see several people surfing/boogie boarding from our balcony. We were out playing in the water until just awhile ago.

Last year we stayed at a timeshare close to where you are going biker weeks. You definitely will notice the bikers if you venture out. On the weekend we experienced side roads closed, off the main roads. We had to drive miles out of the way to get back to our resort.

May the weather is usually very nice and warm/hot. I was in myrtle Beach for the first 3 weeks of April and many people were in the ocean swimming.

You can find the bikers on the beach strip, at the mall and the camp grounds.

We are owners in platinum season but one year were there in May. There are two biker weeks. The general biker week and the black biker week. We were there for the second, which I think was Memorial Day weekend. I think the other was the week before - check with the resort or the tourist organization. We were amazed at the number of bikers everywhere we went. It was very crowded and noisy everywhere until they left. There were few bikers at the resort and Marriott hotel though. We were glad when the bikers cleared out and things seemed back to normal in terms of crowds.
