Hi

I drifted into buying a 1Br alternate year at Westin Lagunamar yesterday, that will help grandfather my previous resale into a legit ownership.

However buyers remorse and wisdom is now prevailing today. I read thru the right to rescind. Can someone please confirm it would be possible for me to cancel within 5 days of the purchase agreement, a timeshare with Westin Lagunamar.

Appreciate your help

It should be and there should be specific instructions in the material you were given that details what you need to do. Waste no time though and get a letter mailed (and I would email too) tomorrow.

Yes, md8287 is correct. Your cancellation rights and instructions are in your contract. Follow those instructions to the letter, and get your rescission letter mailed immediately. You may also wish to send the letter certified, return receipt requested in order to ensure that the letter was received by Vistana.

Yes, by all means you can & should cancel! There is a 'sticky''(section in pink) at the top of this section by Denise on how to rescind a timeshare purchase. Read it & follow the directions, paying attention to the method of mailing the cancellation.

Don't waste any time - get the letter in the mail and save yourself a lot of money. After that you can read all the info on this site and decide if timesharing is for you.

I have learned with legal documents what WalnutBarron says is smart - send a letter certified with return receipt AND send it regular mail too. If you are still at the resort it wouldn't hurt to give it to a sales manager there but even if they take it still mail.

Personally, I'd stay away from the sales manager or sales department completely. Of course they're going to try to talk you out of canceling, plus my guess is 'returning to the sales department' isn't in the rescission instructions.

Avoid the hassle and grief and just follow the instructions in your contract, which is likely mailing or certified mail.

Or they might lyingly tell you that you will face serious consequences if you try to rescind.

Follow the proper instructions for rescinding which is probably to send it certified mail.

But, if the instructions in the contract are different than Denise's sticky, follow the instructions in the contract.
