We decided to spring for a private shuttle with a grocery stop. Question 1) Should we go to Mega or Walmart? We want breakfast items, plus alcohol, plus some dinners, will be grilling.

Is there an ATM at these stores? What will we need in the way of Pesos? Everything seems to be priced in dollars and top dollar at that...

Any other tips we should have before arriving? Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

I liked Mega more than the Walmart and there were several different bank ATM's near the checkstands at the front of the store. We used our credit card for groceries & pesos for restaurants & small purchases & taxi.

+1 Karen's reply. Mega is a grocery store and has everything you need. WalMart isn't quite the same as a US SuperWalMart, and has a more limited selection than the Mega or what you would find in the US.

Thanks for the replies. That is 2 votes for Mega, so we will ask to go there!

This is a lovely resort. The shared outdoor grills can take a long time to heat up. Be sure to walk down the stairs to the beach. You don't even need snorkel gear - your leftover lunch will draw very colourful little fish right to your fingertips. A waterproof or splashproof camera to catch them would be great.
